God speaks to us in our language. God is an omniscient being, meaning he knows all. When God speaks to us we are his audience. He is our loving Heavenly Father and knows us so well. Like God, we need to take time to learn about our audience.
I have been thinking a lot about the idea of knowing our audiences. I was recently challenged with writing an email to Crumbl asking them to sponsor a local Utah event. I was unsure who the recipient of the email would be so I wrote, “Dear Crumbl Represenitive,” not a great starter for knowing your audience. As I thought about it I realized how I would talk to different people in the organization. I realized with the marketing director of Crumbl I would want to focus more on how a sponsor deal could help them with marketing, with the CFO I would want to talk about how the sponsorship could make them money, and with the HR head, I would tell them about how much fun Crumbl staff would have running a booth at the event.
Our Heavenly Father does the same with us. He knows all about us. He knows our struggles, our dreams, and our needs. Thus he is able to create the perfect messages for us but also the perfect blessings for us. I believe we would do well to remember that not only are we God’s audience, but he is also our audience. Remember this will help us have better communication and prayers with him.
