The world is full of so many distractions; from our phones, social media, netflix, work, school, and so many others. It is hard to find moments of clarity in this crazy world. Writing allows us to find not only clarity but also is a great creative outlet. When we write we can better understand how we think, and this is a powerful tool. 

Daily writing does a couple of things for us, first, it enhances clarity of thought. Writing allows us to see all of our thoughts. When we see them we can better organize them, and draw better conclusions then what we would have originally had. It will also help us work through emotions, understand our goals, and lead to better decision making.

Second, writing sparks creativity. It allows us to stretch our creativity muscles and invite inspiration. Writing helps us explore new ideas and experiment with different perspectives. Over time it will unlock a new realm of imagination.

It builds discipline and consistency. Like any habit the more you practice the better you get, but on top of that it helps you become more disciplined and consistent. When we devote time to any habit we learn many skills simultaneously. 

Finally, it helps our memories. Anytime we write something down the more likely we are to remember it. That is why taking notes during a college lecture will help you remember the lecture. When we take time to write down our thoughts we will better remember them. 

Daily writing is one of the best things we can do. There are so many benefits to it. So rather you like to write poetry, blog posts, or simply write in a journal you will find yourself reaping many benefits.
